Compilation CD 2003 / 2004: |
After the 2002 Rogue Independent Music Festival, we began work on a compilation CD titled Paths Less Traveled which featured several bands from the festival as well as other local, regional and national independent artists. The CD was highly successful (see below), so we put together another CD for 2004. This 2004 follow-up CD, Ghost Notes, not only includes music from eight different bands, it also includes three videos. The CD was released in June of 2004 and will be included along with the Summer issue of Progression Magazine. We would like to invite any band who may be interested in participating in future projects to contact us for details: wade@roguemusicfest.com |

After the success of the 1st Annual Rogue Independent Music Festival, members of several of the bands involved, along with several other regional bands, decided to release a compilation CD to help promote the music further. The Paths Less Traveled CD, which has been released on the Genterine Records label, was included along with each copy of issue #43 of Progression Magazine. Additionally, copies of the CD were mailed to websites, radio stations and other magazines that have an interest in music outside of what is typically heard on the radio. The remainder of the CDs went to each band featured on the CD for their own distribute. 8 of the 10 bands featured on the CD performed at the 2nd Annual Rogue Fest in 2003. The combination of the CD and the festival has given each of the bands on the CD a great amount of exposure and for many of the bands, has led to sales of their own CDs. |
