The Bands (2006): |

![]() Spaceseed website myspace For almost 20 years, Spaceseed has been cranking out their trippy space rock for earthlings in front of live audiences everywhere, but it wasn't until 2004 that the band (along with Nik Turner of Hawkwind) released their first full length CD, "Future Cities of the Past, Pt. 1" In 2005, the band combined sound and light to present an awesome attack on the senses in the form of their 'Clouds over Titan' tour. If you missed it, you'll have a chance to check out the legendary band at this year's Rogue Fest. |
![]() Big Hairy Monster website myspace Rumors of the existence of the Big Hairy Monster began to circulate in the fall of 2003 when strange noises started being heard near some rental sheds on Moody Road in Warner Robins, Georgia. Some suspected that these strange sounds were actually some animal dying in the woods while others thought it was just a bad case of indigestion. In any event, the legend of the "Big Hairy Monster" was born. Reports have flooded in from other areas around Wartown (as well as neighboring Byron, GA) of people hearing the monster's deafening roar...some run in terror, while others are drawn to these bizarre howls. One thing is certain, BHM is here to stay. |
![]() Capillary Action website myspace For all intents and purposes, Capillary Action is Philadelphia native Jonathan Pfeffer accompanied live by keyboardist Sam Krulewitch, drummer Ricardo Lagomasino, and bassist Spencer Russell. On Capillary Action's 2004 debut, Fragments (Pangaea Recordings), Pfeffer demonstrated an uncanny ability to dip into everything from melodic death metal rave-ups, fractured no wave-inspired crescendos, Latin rhythms, video game music, lazy alt-country pop, lounge jazz, new wave synths, and mathy melodies-- sometimes all within the same song. But on Capillary Action's sophomore effort, Cannibal Impulses (Pangaea Recordings), Pfeffer discards the eclectic math rock stylings of Fragments for something completely fresh. Incorporating influences ranging from the meticulous nature of early 20th century classical and the satisfying crunch of chip tunes music to the insistent melodies of Javanese Gamelan and the heavily orchestrated soundscapes of Japanese noise artists, Cannibal Impulses is a harsh and challenging expedition into Jonathan Pfeffer's warped psyche.
